The Ghost's 6.75-liter V12 petrol engine generates 563bhp, allowing a 0-62mph time of 4.8s and a top speed of 155mph, so you shouldn't have to worry about merging from slip roads.

3. Mercedes S Class

The S-Class has been around for a while, yet it still provides one of the most luxurious and stress-free rides on the market. Even at highway speeds, there is no sensation of vibration in the pedals or steering wheel, and there is no roar from the tyres or the wind. It should come as no surprise that the long-wheelbase model's most appealing feature is its spacious backseat, where passengers can stretch out and watch the world go by. If that's not relaxing enough, there's also heating and massaging functions built into the seats. Combine that with a nine-speed automatic gearbox that is so smooth it will make you think the start/stop system kicked in, and you have the ultimate in luxury.

2. Range Rover Sport

The original Range Rover paved the way for luxury SUVs and is still an amazing vehicle today. However, the Range Rover Sport adds something to the mix that is somewhat rare in this market: excitement. The Sport can go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.3 seconds or fewer with either the diesel, gasoline or PHEV powertrain. The steering is accurate, and the air suspension helps keep the car's weight low in corners. The new Range Rover Sport SV has 627 horsepower and can reach 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. When you need peace and quiet, the active noise cancellation in tandem with the air suspension will do the trick. There's enough space for up to five people, and the materials and technology are vast improvements over the outgoing model.

The addition of the all-electric i7 only enhances the package, and the resulting luxury experience is so outstanding that we are awarding the i7 with our 2023 Luxury Car of the Year title.
