To produce world-class carbon-free emitting vehicles, Audi is looking to collaborate within the Volkswagen Group. According to Audi Board Member and Logistics Peter Kossler and Chairman of Board Volkswagen Saxony GmbH Dr Stefan Loth, both the sister companies derive benefits while collaborating to produce and promote electrified vehicles. This dream of making electric mobility a reality is possible today thanks to a modular electric-driven system or MEB platform. Such is the possibility and Audi's capability that the German luxury car brand by 2025 will release 20 electric vehicle models for sale in the market. MWTV presents a few facts explaining how brand Audi is looking to churn out 'Electrifying' products, keeping in mind the future of mobility.
Audi's aim to produce sustainable mobility for the future:
As per plans, Audi is seeking to release only cars driven by the electric system in the global markets by 2026. The brand is also looking to gradually stop the production of vehicles having internal combustion engines by 2033. It only means that the German luxury automobile giant intends to use electromobility to sustain itself in the future. The objective is to begin catering to the needs of the customers of the future now and thereby seek to maintain profitability.
The increased synergy between Audi and Volkswagen and electric mobility acceleration:
The Audi Q4 e-Tron and Q4 Sportback e-Tron play a major role in the brand's electrification. These models are being manufactured at the same multi-brand factory in Zwickau, where the Volkswagen ID-3 and ID-4 were developed. Kossler even admits that in the future, Audi is looking to work with more synergy with the Volkswagen Group to create sustainable and affordable carbon emission-free vehicles for customers.
A pioneering Volkswagen factory leading the process of car electrification:
In the Volkswagen factory located in Zwickau Saxony, all five electric car models have been manufactured. Dr Stefan Loth, the chairman of the Volkswagen board, believes that this factory comprising 8,500 employees will soon produce six electrified car models. It is only become possible because of the innovative technologies used at the assembly line in Zwickau. For example, the availability of intelligent software that helps assess test images projected on the windshield enables automatic fine adjustments when needed.
A car electrification collaboration between Audi and Volkswagen to remember:
The positive effect of cross-brand collaboration between Audi and Volkswagen related to producing electric mobility can be seen in technical aspects and while collaborating. For instance, at the moment, there are about 350 employees of Audi working at the Zwickau factory who should have completed their vocational training. With this rich experience gained, they can use the knowledge acquired to help develop electromobility back at their original workstations. For example, workers returning to the Ingolstadt factory can help fasten the production of Audi's Q6 e-Tron's, which is scheduled to be released in the market in 2023.
