The Audi e-Tron is all ready to have a software makeover, thereby extending this electric SUV's distance range. It also means owners of the 2019 or 2020 model can now cover an extra distance of 20 kilometres on just a single charge. More importantly, this indicates that Audi intends to increase efficiency in its new models and those already on the road. Audi is rolling out an e-Tron software update along with the Sportback launch: 

It is along with the official release of e-Tron Sportback; Audi also introduced a technology upgradation possessing a much-improved range. It was specifically created for the brand's first electric model series made available to the public in 2019. Furthermore, the features of this efficiency enhancement software are also available to other automobiles manufactured by Audi.  

 Enhancements introduced in Audi e-Tron software:  

Some of the improvements included in the new e-Tron software include expanding the usable capacity of the high-voltage battery. For example, a 95 kWh battery in the Audi e-Tron 55 Quattro will now deliver more net useable power, translating into an increase in range. Audi also intends to make this new updated software available to all Audi e-Tron 55 Quattro vehicles produced between mid-September 2018, i.e., 2019 model, and end of November 2019, i.e., 2020 model.   

Audi e-Tron 55 software and optimization of control: 

Apart from increasing the battery's capacity, this new software can maximize control of the front electric motor of the e-Tron vehicle. The front electric motor is completely disconnected by the software and is only switched on when more power is needed, improving overall efficiency. In addition, the software also helps in the improvement in cooling. It is because it includes a highly flexible thermal management system. It is inclusive of four separate circuits and temperature regulator that helps regulate high-voltage temperature more efficiently.  

 Audi e-Tron software availability behind its saleability success:  

The presence of the latest software has made the Audi e-tron suitable for daily use. It has especially proven to be effective in increasing the speed of charging, i.e., the car needs just under 10 minutes to fully charge and achieve a range of 110 kilometers. The software also provides for e-Tron planner that helps guide the driver to the nearest charging station. Furthermore, a highly intelligent algorithm is also part of the Audi e-tron software that helps calculate the fastest route and acquire necessary traffic information helping the driver plan a journey appropriately.  

So, with the latest Audi software is all set to upgrade approximately 34,000 Audi e-tron 55 Quattro, early signs certainly suggest that this innovation will take the brand up to the next level in terms of sales.
