Audi has decided to take the performance luxury sedan segment by storm by launching the RS 5 Sportback in India.
If you were someone who always wanted to buy a performance sedan, but didn’t want a show off business, then the RS5 Sportback, should be your to go sedan, which dishes out performance as well as luxury in same breadth.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “We are thrilled to launch the sporty spearhead of the product line- the Audi RS 5 Sportback in India. The Audi RS 5 is coming to India as a Sportback, for the very first time and will be the perfect choice for customers who want the Audi RS DNA in addition to everyday practicality. The Audi RS 5 Sportback is a superlative all-rounder, which is built with just the right mix of aggressive styling, heart-pumping performance, and opulent luxury which will garner tremendous affinity with performance car customers and existing Audi customers in India.”
Staying true to the VAG’s petrol only philosophy, the RS 5 is powered with 2.9 Litre TFSI Twin Turbo V6 petrol engine churning out whopping 450 Hp and 600 Nm of Torque, that propels this beast from a stand still to 100 in just 3.9 seconds. There are 2 RS modes that the driver can choose from via the multi function steering wheel itself which calibrates the power setting, transmission setting and steering sensitivity. What further aids the driving experience is the fact that the RS 5 comes with all wheel drive, drivetrain, that Audi refers to as Quattro with self locking centre differential.
Some of the key features include
- Matrix LED Headlamps
- Panoramic full glass roof
- 19 inch 10 spoke alloys
- Dynamic turn indicators
- Alcantara Leather Seats
- Front Seats with massage function
- 3 Zone climate control AC
- Audi Virtual Cockpit
- 6 Airbags
Prized at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 1.04 Cr and entering India via a CBU route, we think, the RS 5 is a perfect car for someone who as we said earlier, does not want to announce the world that he/she has arrived in a jiffy.
While in India, Audi has launched the RS 5, globally Audi AG, launched the RS 3, and we think that, the RS 3 also, makes a perfect sense for India.
