To strengthen the Q3 portfolio, Audi India today launched the sportier version of the Audi Q3 in Coupe Shape, aptly called as the Audi Sportback in S styling package.
To be available only in the technology trim, the Q3 Sportback gets sportier alloys, sloping roofline panoramic sunroof and dynamic rear turn indicators as opposed to the standard turn indicators in the regular Q3.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “The Audi Q3 Sportback is a car that sports elegant design and sporty performance. It gives potential Audi Q3 customers an option to choose from. The Audi Q3 has been a segment leader and we are confident that the new Audi Q3 Sportback will replicate its popularity among customers. The reckoning success of the Audi Q3, which we launched last year, has given us the impetus to introduce the new Audi Q3 Sportback, and we are confident of its success in the country.”
Launched at an introductory price of INR 51.43 lacs ex-showroom, it is roughly 1 lac more expensive then the regular Q3 in technology pack. At that price, Audi is offering complementary 5 years roadside assistance, & 5 years warranty.
The Q3 Sportback, continues to get Audi’s tried and tested 2.0 litre TFSI petrol engine, which churns out 190 PS of power and 320 NM of torque and is mated to a 7 speed Dual clutch transmission and its legendary Quattro all wheel drive system.
In our opinion the Audi Q3 with this Sportback variant, makes the Q3 look much sharper and more elegant, especially what aids to that sporty look is the S Line Kit and those better looking 5 Spoke V Style ‘S Design’ R18 alloy. However, having said that, the taller passengers may feel out of place due to the sloping roof line.
The list of features on offer in the Q3 is quite exhaustive too, and the luxury SUV buyer will not be left for wanting for more. You get, Audi Virtual Cockpit, MMI Navigation, Audi Sound System, while we would have loved to see a B&O setup here, 2-zone climate control, 6 airbags, ambient lights with 30 colors, LED headlamps as well as the tail lamps, and more.
Recently, we had compared the new third generation BMW X1 with the new Audi Q3 to see how they stack up against each other and we pretty much found both the SUV’s neck to neck.
However, now with Audi throwing in the Q3 Sportback, they have taken the game, just one notch higher.
Bookings have started at your nearest Audi dealer, or you can shop on the Audi India Website too. We would say, book your Audi Q3 Sportback now, before the stocks run out for 2023.
