
BMW Group India has launched a fresh new 5 Series; it will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. The car is available in one petrol model – BMW 530i M Sport; and two diesel variants – BMW 530d M Sport and BMW 520d Luxury Line.
The new BMW 5 Series is said to have numerous updates and enhancements. Accompanied by cutting-edge technology with multiple driver assistance systems such as Remote-Control Parking, Head-up Display, Reversing Assistant, Parking Assistant, Gesture Control and more. The interior is brimming with luxurious refinements and more added comfort, while the exterior is as sporty as a sedan can get accompanied by powerful performance!

The exterior of the 5 Series is gives a very clean look and charming sporting style due to the larger BMW Kidney grille with new slimmer full-LED Adaptive headlights which ensures a considerable visual impact from the front. The car’s side profile is enhanced by the distinct wheel arches. And on the rear, is the easily-spotted L shaped 3D light graphic emerging from the taillight. The interior contains driver-focused cockpit design blended with modern elegance. A large glass sunroof comes as a standard along with ambient lighting package and four-zone automatic climate control.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology is said to provide maximum power, efficiency and spontaneous responsiveness. The 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW 530i generates maximum output of 252 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm with 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.1 seconds. The 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW 520d develops maximum output of 190 hp and peak toque of 400 Nm with 0-100 kmph acceleration in 7.3 seconds. The 3-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine of BMW 530d produces maximum output of 265 hp and peak torque of 620 Nm with 0-100 kmph acceleration in 5.7 seconds. Transmission is provided by the automatic eight speed steptronic sport which performs smoothly, with imperceptible gear shifts. The steering wheel provides a better driving pleasure with paddle shifters and cruise control with braking function. The Driving experience control switch allows the driver to choose between different driving modes: Comfort, Sport, ECO PRO and Adaptive. The M Sport variants offer an extra Sport+ mode.
