The new BMW 2 Series Coupé has started dynamic testing and tuning of its drive and suspension systems under racetrack conditions and it's on its final stage of the process. The production is said to begin in the summer of 2021. It aims to be at the top of the grid while also providing a sporty yet emotional driving experience. Some of the major selling points of the two-door premium compact vehicle are an in-line 6-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive, a balanced axle load distribution of almost 50-50, extremely stiff body and a chassis developed for agile and dynamic behavior.

Designed for an uncompromising sporty driving pleasure, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé continues the tradition of the brand’s driver-oriented, compact yet powerful two-door models, which have been built since the legendary BMW 2002. Talking about power delivery, traction, cornering, and handling, the vehicle meets the needs of customers who are unadulterated sport enthusiasts.

Extensive testing has been done for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé on Nürburgring’s Nordschleife serve for wheel suspension, chassis, damping, steering and braking system. Additionally, testing on public country roads around Munich and at BMW Group test site in Maisach ensures driving qualities in everyday traffic and different road conditions. What is unique in the new BMW 2 Series Coupé is the power transmission to the rear wheels, which is ideally suited for sporty, precise cornering including controllable drifting maneuvers as well as providing optimized traction in all weather and road conditions and a balanced ride.

The top of the model of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé is the BMW M version of it called the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé draws its torque from a powerful in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine with the BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The drive generates a maximum output of 374 hp and is combined with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The BMW M model uses the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, which ensures driving pleasures along with a power distribution that adapts to various road and weather conditions.

In order to achieve a balance between sportiness and ride comfort, all model variants of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé are equipped with stroke-dependent dampers as standard. Additionally, an Adaptive M Chassis is offered as an option, which responds to slight road unevenness and compensate vibrations to optimize comfort. The new BMW 2 Series Coupé comes with effortlessly controllable handling and powerful and highly controllable brakes. The steering wheel is specifically designed as per the model. But, optionally available for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé is the Variable Sports Steering which further optimizes precision while steering into corners with reduced steering effort when parking and maneuvering. The body design of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé has also made in such a way which helps to optimize the aerodynamic properties. Along with a model-specific front spoiler lip, front splitter and air curtains, air deflectors, a tank and a rear axle cover.

We find the new 2 Series to be very sleek and great for motorsport enthusiasts, it being a compact premium car, makes it comfortable to drive while giving a sporty feeling.
